Pizzeria La Candeletta

"I was in Dusseldorf for business with 3 coworkers. We stumbled upon this little gem, and enjoyed everything immensely. We shared the antipasto platter, and then had the tortellini dish, pasta with marinara, and 3 pizzas. I had a special request which they were so kind to do for me. I brought my own goat cheese since I cannot have cow cheese, and they made the best Margherita pizza for me. The crust was thin and crispy on the outside, but chewy on the inside. This is a family owned restaurant.Our server, Elisa, daughter of the owners (Gaetano and Silke) was absolutely fabulous. You can tell this wonderful family puts their heart and soul into the restaurant, service and the food. The food we had was not complicated or overly fancy, but was delicious, and I will definitely return there on my next trip to Dusseldorf. I do recommend it."

"We got lured into this place by the amazing aroma of their Pizza and after checking the reviews (because that area is full of tourist traps) we decided to dine there and they didn't disappoint. The owner/server was a nice Italian gentleman, extremely friendly and cheerful. We tried the Pizza Fantasia and it was amazing. Fresh ingredients, amazing aroma and taste. Their Lambrusco red wine was quite good. Prices are a bit on the higher end for Germany but worth it."

"This Pizzeria seriously serves the best pizza you will eat for quite a while and most definitely in Alt Stadt if not whole of Dusseldorf and beyond. The base is crispy thin solid - and best of all its Sourdough!. The toppings are generous. We went for the recommendations - Shrimp/ Prawns (Garnelen) and 4 cheeses. Both were delicious. They know not to add cheese for a seafood pizza (why spoil a good thing when there's shrimp / prawns with cheese!). Prices are reasonable. And the chilly oil was seriously hot and spicy (we asked for the more spicy variant)! Will definitely come back for more!"
